Is it unreasonable to want to just forget about someone, even though the universe seems bound and determined to continuously remind you of their existence?

[Especially when this world apparently saw fit to give you a picture of someone you've been trying to just move on from. A picture that would probably be better left destroyed, yet...hasn't been.]

It's not all ex-girlfriends, I can tell you that much. I just got a picture of some asshole I used to know.

Hm. I was wondering if those in the photos had a specific personal connection to their receivers. Maybe the connection just has to be a strong one, not necessarily positive or negative.

Hell no. I couldn't give less of a shit about that asshole and what he might think.

I may not like looking at the smug bastard's face, but it's proof the real world is still out there. You don't toss that kind of evidence.

Must be around three years now. It gets easier and easier to forget about home.

I've been here for little over a year, but it feels far longer. Three must feel like a century.

That's how I used to think. I spent a lot of time bitching and moaning about it. But now what's it's started to feel like is a weird kind of retirement. Every time there was a long night, us guys always talked about how once we were out of the job we'd get a dog and spend all day fishing.

I never figured it'd be for jellyfish monsters, but hell, you can't know everything.

[Things like retiring weren't what Nagi really thought about, ever. In his line of work, it's not really something you retire from, exactly...and he's far too young to consider it anyway.]

That's one way to think about it, I suppose.

I always wished for a way to escape the world I lived in. I just never thought it would be so hard to get used to once I got my wish.
