☆ 001 | Goldenrod City | Action
[A figure awakens with a start, the world blurry and unintelligible in the gloom as he- for a brief moment of panic- expects to feel the weight of thousands of pounds of rubble crushing him. A sharp gasp of air proves to him that he's not underwater either, at least, so where....
...
He blinks hard a few more times before he can fully make out the image of a Pikachu perched on his chest, nose just inches from his and twitching curiously as it sniffs him, red cheeks glowing and forming a very strange picture for Nagi to be looking at, even with the room being otherwise fairly illuminated.
And with that he's suddenly sitting up and now he's on his feet, effectively causing the Pikachu to tumble off of him and onto the bed with a dull squeak of surprise. He gives the room a quick once over, realizing after a moment that his breathing has grown erratic to the point where it's making his chest hurt, and he has to make a conscious effort to calm himself down to take stock of where he is. His gaze falls onto a Pokéball lying on a table nearby, sitting minimized next to a PokéGear. He doesn't make a move for either, instead just staring at them for a long moment before stiffening when he feels something brush up against his side.
Nagi abandons the objects and sudden Pikachu besides, turning quickly on his heel to make for the exit. If anyone happens to be around the base he ignores them in favor of getting out of this unfamiliar building, out to something that he might be able to pick out as fami-
...oh. That's music he's hearing, familiar but distant, and no less burned into his brain from who knows how many hours of mind-numbing game play. Eventually Nagi wanders from the building altogether, not exactly right out in the open, but not in the shadows between buildings either. He's lost and confused more than anything, clenching and unclenching his fists at his sides in the attempt to keep himself focused and together enough to try to think. This has to be a dream, there's no way this could be possible, and yet there's that damn Pikachu chasing him for all it's worth, every bound punctuated with a soft Pi, Pi, Pi.
Nagi stops walking, turning his gaze up to the Pokémon Center he's somehow ended up near. Get yourself lost in a town, first thing you do is look for that red roof. Over his shoulder, a Game Corner, as well as the Pikachu that has planted itself at Nagi's feet, panting a little to catch a breath before unceremoniously grabbing Nagi's pant-leg and scaling him, up and up until he's perched on his shoulder. He ignores it in favor of....well, just staring up at that building, looking a whole heck of a lot like he's forgotten how to breathe for the moment.]

[ Well, whatever, if not she can just use his proximity to her...or have Galaga shoot his number to her.
And then Nanami completely stops talking to him for a few seconds to pull out her gear, flipping it open and apparently...ignoring...him...............NANAMI. THIS IS NOT HOW YOU DO A CONVERSATION - oh, okay, his gear should ping as user Chiaki Nanami having purchased for download Galaga to his account.
Buying games for other people is becoming a hobby. After that, she flips the gear shut again. ]
Nanami Chiaki. ...In Eastern order. Nice to meet you, Nagi-san.

Nagi blinks hard a few times, not nonplussed by her ignoring him considering the fact that he's not entirely sure what else to say, beyond just....staring at her, and that's not how you do a conversation either. No, he's nonplussed over....eeeverything else.
Well at least he'll have something to keep him properly occupied in the midst of the upcoming hurricane, that's for sure...as well as spending half his time still trying to figure out what just happened.]
Uh. ......you....you too, Nanami.
[And while your gaze averts, Nagi, your Pikachu is just going to be helpful and choose this moment to sit very very close to your face from his spot on your shoulder, making it that much harder for you to look away.]

[ Which are things that are hard to explain to newbies since they normally ask "But why tho" and the only answer is "Because game mechanics" and some people just don't get that.
...Especially when the Super High School Level Gamer is trying to explain. She can get a little vague about things, or a little too specific and game-speaky. ]

[A green Espeon, no less.]
But...there are well over six hundred Pokémon that have been discovered.
[He shakes his head a little, looking up at the Center again.]
I...I'm not sure where to start.

[ ..............NOT EVERYONE IS INSANE LIKE YOU, THOUGH, NANAMI. ]
no subject
That would be easiest for the purpose of using the PokeDex efficiently.
[...and now we're lapsing into an awkward silence. Don't panic, say something else.]
And you....so you- ....you know them all? ...You've memorized them all?
[#nailed....it....]

[ Nanami doesn't seem to even have noticed the awkward silence...but then, she speaks with odd occasional pauses, so. ]
no subject
[What does that...mean...]
So then...you like video games?
[Nagi asks quietly, glancing off to the side. He's not...really good at small talk like this, but at least this is something he can talk about.]
no subject
[ ..........nanami. ]
All sorts, all genres...I like all games, even the ones that aren't that good. What about you?
no subject
I play when I can. I know about more games than I've played, actually. ...But I do like them.
Since Pokemon just came out back home like I said before, I...I'd been spending a lot of time playing Yellow.

[He glances over at the actual Pikachu still on his shoulder, sniffing the air curiously.]
It was, yes...though I have a feeling achieving something similar here isn't going to be as easy.

[Trustworthy, maybe. Assertive, yes.]

[ The pokemon. ]

[...]
...just have to train hard, then.
[THAT WAS A PAUSE, NAGI.]
no subject
...Yep. But...be sure to have some fun, too...

[He looks over to the Pokemon Center again, still idly aware of his Pikachu sitting on his shoulder, ears flicking against the side of his head.]
...Is there any place nearby that I can buy a Thunder Stone from in the future?
[For obvious reasons.]

I'll be needing one, eventually. Though I never...really know when the best time to evolve Pikachu to Raichu would be.
[Usually he just does it as soon as he gets a stone...]

[Isogu tilts his head to the side, making a bit of a face. Nagi you won't be making him do anything, but he welcomes you to try.]
no subject
...Of course, that's if he agrees...

[He glances over at Isogu out of the corner of his eye, who just sniffs a little and looks away.]
